Ely Levine is a PhD student in archaeology and Bible at Harvard University. He is currently completing his dissertation on ancient weight systems in the Southern Levant during the Iron Age (1200-600 BCE). He has excavated at Ashkelon in Israel, Poggio Civitate in Italy, and is a staff member at the Tell es-Safi (Gath) excavations. Ely completed a BA in classical archaeology and ancient history at Brandeis University. He serves as a part-time field supervisor at ArchEducation Outreach.
